I have so many books that I am trying to get through right now and many, many more on my 'to read' list. Some are for enjoyment and some are for self-improvement, some are light reading and others are more emotional and/or thought provoking but, I think each is worthy of my time. The Spice of Life Newsletter; Edition 1

I started a newsletter for our family. Here is the first edition:

Family Meeting Report

Hi this is Bella. I have been voted to be the "Family Historian" for the month of January. The family historian blogs about our family meetings and tells the important details of those meetings.

Every family meeting follows an agenda. The agenda looks like this:
Opening Prayer
Pledge of Allegiance
Chore Charts: {we evaluate how well we completed our chores for that week and draw new chores for the coming week}
Checkbooks: {we get paid for how many chores we get done, we add all of the money up from each chore we did and figure the total out and write in our checkbook registers}.
Interest: {at the end of each month "The Spicer Bank" will pay us 10% interest on any money we have saved}.
Officer Elections: {These are held at the beginning of each month. Offices include: Historian; Snack Coordinator; Secretary and Prayer Leader}.
Weekly Schedules: {everyone has to share their schedule for the week}.
Catholic Faith Discussion & Value Discussion: {this month we are talking about 'honesty' and 'grace'}.
Comments, Complaints & Compliments: {we can talk about anything that is bothering us or we compliment people for doing a good job}.
Mission Statement: {we wrote our family mission statement together and at the end of every meeting we say it out loud}. Our mission statement is:

WE ARE responsible, respectful, hardworking, spiritual and fun!
WE ARE FAMILY...GO SPICERS!

DISMISSAL

That is my first report as family historian! PEACE OUT!

Be Colorful, Be Happy!

“When you have a rainbow deep down in your heart, your smile will shine bright.

You know you're a part of that colorful, magical, feeling you'll find,

when you have a rainbow inside.”
