Family Meeting - Vol. 1

Today we had our first family meeting, and it was a success (I think). We had an agenda, took minutes, voted on officers (I was the acting secretary, and thus have to write this as a result), and assigned chores. The really great thing was, even though it took an hour and half and the kids were dying at the end, we got a lot of important work out of the way and even came up with a family mission statement and the "rules we live by." The kids all received their shiny, new "checkbooks" where they have to keep track of their money that is on deposit in the Bank of Spicer, and learned what their new jobs are.
