Bella's Birthday Baking Bash!

On Friday night we celebrated Bella's 8th birthday {a little early} by having her 'friend party'. She invited 3 friends over to spend the night and have a baking party during which they would decorate cupcakes. All of the girls had so much fun-what a great night!

The "bakers" hard at work.

Sophie's finished cupcakes.

Mia's finished cupcakes - with GOBS of decorations.

Many of the girls were so in love with all of the sprinkles & decorations
that they just couldn't stop adding to their cupcakes it was so cute!

All of the cupcakes - after!

Almost the best day ever!

Friday was almost my best day ever!
1. I got Pizza with the Principal because I worked hard all month.
2. My birthday party was that day.
But then, I tripped and dented my ear and cut it open. It almost ruined my best day. Luckily, the other stuff was too fun!

I'm a rock star!

Today I got my new phone. It's a Droid HTC. Well, when we went to go watch Bella cheerlead at a little league football game {Bucks vs. Vikings} my friend called. It was so embarrassing because of course she was not on my contact list because nobody was and I got my phone five minutes earlier. So I answered and I was like "hello," and my friend {Whitney Anderson} was like "hey!" And I was like "hey!" back and then I stopped..."who is this?" I asked. All of a sudden she was like "Whitney!" I said "ohhhhh!" Soooo embarrassing!!!Add ImageAdd Image

Karate

Along with Mia, Sophie and I are taking Karate classes. It's a lot of fun, and the kids have their own classes with students their own size. In my class, there are six adults, four men and two women. There is only one other student as tall as me, so we train together since every one else is so much shorter.

Last night, we learned how to defend and fight while on the ground. There were several moves designed to defend against an attacker who is on top of you striking at your face, and four choke holds for incapacitating an opponent. The choke holds work amazingly well.

The only problem here is that no one at home wants me to try these great moves out. I can see several circumstances where a choke hold would be useful, i.e. bedtime for Mia.

Just a little something that brings me BIG joy...

Celebrating My Small Successes

FaithButton

A blog that I love to follow {you can find that blog here} encourages moms to regularly post about their "Small Successes" which ultimately can add up to huge triumphs in life. So here goes:

1. I am now regularly blogging to keep our extended family caught up on the craziness of our little life. It is bringing me great joy!

2. I went out and campaigned with Justin for 6+ hours. We talked to people, staked countless signs and arranged for many more to be put up. Hopefully, our hard work will pay off on election day!

3. After what seems like an eternity, I can simultaneously see the bottom of all our hampers AND it's all put away! I can.not.believe.it. and it's amazing how completing such a seemingly meaningless task can be so liberating - yay me!

4. I got the girls to their barrage of cheerleading, dance, Karate, guitar, etc. practices/lessons and cookies delivered to Hannah's Quest class this week and all on time!

5. I got up and baked muffins for the kids for breakfast before school today, it made them so happy!

I know, I know - but she's so cute!

And seriously, who wakes up this happy everyday!?!
